We believe cancelling should be as easy as signing up — no phone calls, no retention mazes, no dark patterns. This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for paid Zapac plans, and what happens to your links and QR codes afterwards.
1. Scope
This policy applies to paid Zapac subscriptions purchased through our payment processors — Stripe for international payments and Razorpay for payments in India. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
2. Cancelling your subscription
- You can cancel at any time, yourself, from your billing settings or the payment processor's customer portal — no need to contact us or give a reason.
- When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and it will not renew or charge you again after that.
- At the end of the period your account moves to the free tier (or closes, if you ask us to), and paid-only features are limited accordingly.
3. Refunds
- Subscription fees are charged in advance for the chosen billing period. Because you keep full access for the period you paid for, fees for the current billing period are non-refundable on cancellation, except where a refund is required by applicable law.
- For annual or other prepaid plans, we do not provide pro-rated refunds for the unused portion after cancellation, except where required by law.
- We may, at our discretion, offer a goodwill refund or credit — for example, for a clear billing error or a duplicate charge. If you think you have been charged in error, contact support@zap.ac and we will make it right.
- Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method through the relevant processor, along with the corresponding credit note where applicable. Times to appear in your account depend on the processor and your bank.
4. No refund on abuse or policy termination
If your account is suspended or terminated for violating our Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service, you are not entitled to a refund of fees already paid.
5. What happens to your links and QR codes
- On cancellation or downgrade we keep your data intact for a grace period rather than deleting it immediately, so you can re-subscribe or export without losing work.
- Paid-only capacity and features (for example, additional links, custom domains or advanced analytics) are limited once your paid period ends. After the grace period, content that exceeds free-tier limits may stop resolving.
- Printed and dynamic QR codes. A printed QR code encodes a domain, and a dynamic QR code lets you change its destination from your dashboard. If you cancel or downgrade, the ability to edit a dynamic QR's destination may end, and a code may stop resolving once it falls outside your plan's limits or the grace period. Please keep this in mind before printing QR codes at scale, and consider a custom domain for print campaigns (see our Terms).
6. How to cancel or request a refund
Cancel from your billing settings or the processor's customer portal at any time. For refund questions or billing errors, email support@zap.ac with your account email and the charge in question.
7. Chargebacks
If something looks wrong, please contact us first — we can usually resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us may result in suspension of the account while the dispute is investigated.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Each version carries an effective date, and your continued use of the Service after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance.
